An ode to a dear friend who is sorely missed by all who knew her.
lyrics
I had a roommate and her name was Chicken
She was a rascal - squee!
She wore fluff pants and watched me shower
And liked when I checked her knees!
Combing her hair was her only vice
She didn't do drugs, that was nice
Every night when I got home, she'd be at the door
Singing this song for me
One day like this, like any other day
The chicken just had to leave!
A cardboard cloud rode down on a rainbow
And beamed chicken into her seat!
Everyone there on board was glad
To have a new friend who was super rad
As they flew up into space, the star of the show
Looked back singing this to me
Believe you me, I think she knew how good she had it here
I feel that good life helped her bloom into the upper tiers
Of bigger things out there, explosive spurts of magic everywhere
Now she spends all day in the playground
With all you can eat whipped cream!
Squishing in the sun while the wind blows her hair,
She swims when she's not climbing trees!
And guess who's there?
It's Plant, Space Spider, & Cheeta Mouse
They all live in a house.
And look there's Lazer, Taco & the Cowboy
Showing home movies of Chicken’s old family
And they were singing
Wonderful Niagara-based musicians who I'm proud to call my pals. Their latest album is a folky/bluegrass delight that tugs at the heartstrings. Thunderclap!
The title is an attention-getter to be sure, but this collection of trippy psych-pop more than earns it with its wavy, acid-laced melodies. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 17, 2021
A hushed and low-lit EP from this Melbourne musician, where dreamlike melodies drift across a bed of tender guitar. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 19, 2023
