We All Lose Someone Sometimes

from Strange Songs for Strange Times by THUNDERCLAP

about

A fun, jaunty melody juxtaposed with lyrics about coping with the death of someone you love.

lyrics

We all lose someone sometimes
And when we do, the crying fills up all the day
And all you want is to run away
And when you're not grieving, you sleep & eat
And avoid answering the door
And don't call my phone, cause no one’s home!
I know the world seems cruel
It all looks random and you feel alone out there
But, I assure you there's someone who really cares

We all lose someone sometimes
It's never easy and it seems like time stands still
And it feels wrong that the world goes on
Distractions badly needed, just entertain me
As to blank my tortured mind
Frustrated 'cause I can't turn back time
I know the world seems cruel
It all looks random and you feel alone out there
But I assure you there's someone who really cares

The massive investment we made in them was huge
Emotionally, and psychologically to name just a few
And as we think this existence as measurable and concrete
The idea of death is an abstract beast- to say the very least
The idea that this strong soul that pervaded our lives just leaves
It's cruel and terrible - it causes the inevitable. That being:
An unsolvable riddle that must be deciphered and explained
And so the brain breaks
And unrelenting unstoppable tears; wash over your swollen face
It's the exact same tones and colours of your
Standard nervous breakdown
